The Opportunity:
As a College Admissions Counselor, you will play a key role in guiding students through the college admissions process, helping them prepare for higher education in the U.S. and beyond. You will lead workshops, coordinate college visits, and provide personalized support to students and families, ensuring they make informed decisions about their academic futures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach daily college counseling workshops to 12th graders.
- Coordinate and organize college admissions visits each fall.
- Develop and maintain college planning and career readiness software such as Naviance.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with 10th and 11th graders.
- Assist students with college applications, financial aid, and recommendation processes.
- Lead college information evening sessions and family counseling events.
- Support students in selecting the right college or university based on their academic and career goals.
- Develop new program ideas to enhance college readiness initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including writing letters of recommendation and editing essays.
- Demonstrated experience working with students and parents.
- Excellent academic record with a high GPA in your major.
- Strong employment recommendations and professional experience in education or counseling.
Preferred
- Experience with college admissions processes and financial aid applications.
- Familiarity with college planning software such as Naviance.
- Experience in student support and academic advising.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
