Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Computer Science department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Deliver and monitor the curriculum to meet the needs of all students, promoting excellence and inclusion.
- Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
- Develop and implement strategies to raise achievement and engagement in Computer Science.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field and integrate new technologies and teaching methods.
- Represent the department in meetings, inspections, and external events.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Computer Science.
- Proven experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading a curriculum.
- Knowledge of current trends and innovations in Computer Science education.
- Experience with digital technologies and programming.
- Experience in leading professional development for teachers.
