Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11 to 18, with a focus on achieving outstanding pupil outcomes.
  • Create engaging and innovative lesson plans that foster a love of learning and encourage critical thinking.
  • Support the school's leadership programme by inspiring students to become confident, responsible, and socially aware individuals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching and learning across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to ensure continued development.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school’s mission of nurturing young people and inspiring future leaders.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay up to date with best practices in education.
  • Maintain a positive and motivating classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience of teaching to GCSE standard
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding attainment and achievement
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to motivate both pupils and colleagues

Preferred

  • Experience in a faith-based or values-driven school environment
  • Experience with leadership development programmes
  • Experience in innovative and creative teaching methods
  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds
