The Opportunity:

As a Contingent Commander, you will lead and develop the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at a leading co-educational boarding school. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic and engaging CCF programme, support volunteer staff, and promote pupil engagement across all sections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) programme
  • Oversee training and ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Support and manage volunteer staff within the CCF
  • Promote pupil engagement across all sections of the CCF
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the CCF
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance co-curricular opportunities
  • Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s values and mission
  • Assist in the development of training materials and activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in military, cadet force, youth leadership, or outdoor education
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of volunteers
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of CCF operations and training procedures
  • Experience with youth development and character building
  • Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities within the co-curricular programme
