The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. This role is ideal for someone interested in education or looking to build a career in school support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during lessons, ensuring they remain on task and meet the school’s high expectations.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and resources provided by the teacher.
  • Support student learning by answering questions and encouraging participation.
  • Monitor and manage student behaviour, addressing issues and escalating when necessary.
  • Flexibly cover a variety of subjects, year groups, and activities as required.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment aligned with the school’s values.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Adapt to different situations and build positive relationships with students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in an educational setting or a commitment to a career in teaching.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage student behaviour and maintain discipline.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to cover a range of subjects and year groups.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in teaching or learning support.
  • Experience with delivering set work and following lesson plans.
  • Understanding of Catholic values and ethos (not required).
  • Experience in a school with a strong inclusive and aspirational culture.
