The Opportunity:

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the creative and technical skills of students across multiple key stages. You will deliver innovative lessons that encourage problem-solving, innovation, and practical skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Design & Technology lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5.
  • Plan and deliver practical and theoretical lessons that foster creativity and technical understanding.
  • Support students of varying abilities, including those with special educational needs and English as an additional language.
  • Prepare students for coursework, practical assessments, and NEA requirements.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating workshop environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, departmental development, and the wider life of the school.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour standards for all pupils.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree in Design & Technology or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • The ability to teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching across a range of key stages.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment activities.
  • Experience with safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Experience with differentiated learning strategies.
