The Opportunity:

As the Director of HR, you will lead and shape the future of human resources across a large and complex organisation. This is a strategic role with the opportunity to drive organisational improvement, build strong relationships, and influence the culture and direction of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the school’s vision and values.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing HR team across multiple settings.
  • Provide expert advice to the Executive Team on workforce planning, culture, compliance, and organisational development.
  • Drive organisational change and ensure the quality and consistency of HR services.
  • Build strong partnerships with schools, external stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Navigate complex people matters with sound judgment, professionalism, and expertise.
  • Support the development of staff through professional growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all HR practices meet the highest standards of compliance and excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading HR functions within large and complex organisations.
  • Strong track record in organisational development and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage at senior leadership levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or public sector HR.
  • Background in strategic planning and people development.
  • Knowledge of educational standards and school improvement frameworks.
  • Experience in leading HR transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
