The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sports, you will lead and develop the school’s sporting program, ensuring it aligns with the school’s mission and curriculum. This is a pivotal role in promoting physical education, extracurricular activities, and student well-being within a dynamic and growing institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school’s sports program, including curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
  • Supervise and support sports staff, coaches, and student athletes to ensure a safe and engaging environment.
  • Coordinate the use of sports facilities, including football pitch, swimming pool, and courts.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate physical education with academic learning.
  • Promote a culture of healthy living, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for sports events and competitions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all sports-related activities.
  • Represent the school at community and sporting events, building positive relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university and qualified Teacher status (PGCE or B.Ed from the UK).
  • Previous experience in a primary school teaching role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to education and a passion for student development.
  • Excellent English language skills, with native-level proficiency preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a UK curriculum school.
  • Experience with sports program development and student athlete support.
  • Familiarity with international education standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols in sports environments.
