The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary History Teacher KS3-KS5 to join a thriving and supportive team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development, while working in a highly regarded international school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons for KS3-KS5 students, ensuring engaging and challenging content.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that meet the needs of a diverse student body.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and leadership skills.
- Support the school’s mission of Aspiring to excellence, Building futures, and Celebrating diversity.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to History.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good bachelor’s degree and PGCE qualification from a reputable UK university.
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum at KS3-KS5 level.
- Strong knowledge of History and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
- High standards of teaching and a commitment to student achievement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with international students and multicultural environments.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience with assessment and curriculum development.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
- Familiarity with British School Overseas (BSO) standards and practices.
