Education Support Worker opportunity in Hamilton, Leicester. Support students with disabilities and learning difficulties.

The Opportunity:

As an Education Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping students with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties develop their independence. This is a rewarding position that requires a supportive and encouraging approach, with the opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties in a classroom setting.
  • Encourage and promote the independence of students through respectful and positive interaction.
  • Assist with personal care tasks where required, with training provided.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure the needs of students are met.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow.
  • Help with administrative tasks related to student support.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 qualification in Education Support or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing classroom support to students with learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.
  • Commitment to supporting students with disabilities and learning challenges.

Preferred

  • Experience in supporting students with personal care needs.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary of £18,059.
  • 34½ hours per week, 35 weeks per year.
