Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English Literature and Language across Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE and A Level.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the standards of the UK system.
  • Foster a positive and motivating learning environment for students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Support the wider school community through extracurricular and pastoral activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and colleagues.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in English education and pedagogy.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • At least two years of teaching experience within the UK system (either in the UK or at a British International school).
  • Expertise in teaching both English Literature and Language.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience in a British International school setting.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
