The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English across all Key Stages, including A Level.
• Support and contribute to the leadership and development of the English department.
• Inspire and challenge students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure high standards of teaching and learning for all students, regardless of background or ability.
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to departmental and whole-school improvement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents to support student success.
• Promote the school’s Catholic values and ethos in all aspects of teaching and learning.
• Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that encourage student achievement and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English across the full age and ability range, including A Level.
• Proven experience in leading or significantly supporting leadership within an English department.
• Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with the ability to support all students to achieve their full potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• A reflective and proactive approach to professional development.

Preferred

• Experience in leading a department or taking on leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or similar.
• Familiarity with Catholic values and ethos.
• Experience in a school with a strong academic tradition and commitment to pastoral care.
