The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified English Teacher to join a supportive department and cover a maternity leave. This role presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s English curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11-16, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Support students of all abilities, providing additional help where needed and challenging those who excel.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment in line with the school’s no-excuses policy.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and other school activities.
- Prepare and manage teaching resources and materials effectively.
- Engage with parents and guardians to support student learning and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a valid teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and a commitment to academic excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take responsibility for student progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
- Familiarity with supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience in using digital tools and resources in the classroom.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
