The Opportunity:
As an Achievement Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting students in Year 11 through personalized guidance and academic support. You will help drive student achievement and contribute to the overall success of the school’s pastoral and academic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the interviewing of potential students in Year 11 of high school.
- Monitor and support the progress of all tutees using the valued-added tracking system, including conducting focused 1:1 interviews.
- Deliver the tutorial programme as planned, ensuring alignment with academic goals.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ pastoral logs, interviews, progression plans, course changes, referrals, attendance, and tracking data.
- Contribute to the quality assurance and self-assessment procedures within the Pastoral team.
- Undertake examination invigilation as required, including during off-timetable periods such as June exams and CAPs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage young people.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
- Alignment with the Catholic ethos of the institution.
Preferred
- Experience in pastoral support or student guidance.
- Experience with examination invigilation.
- Experience with 1:1 interview techniques and student progress tracking.
- Background in education or related fields.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £25,494.47 to £28,795.61 per annum.
