Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons using the Eduqas specification at GCSE level.
  • Support the continued success of the English department through collaboration and shared planning.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that reflect the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s wider community.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to ensure all pupils reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to support student well-being and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience of teaching GCSE English Language and Literature.
  • Commitment to student achievement and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a Church of England school or similar setting.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student welfare.
  • Leadership experience within a teaching department.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities and school events.
