The Opportunity:
As a Media Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Media and Film courses. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology, provide technical support to students and staff, and contribute to a dynamic and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and efficient operation of technical facilities for Media and Film courses.
- Support the booking, maintenance, and servicing of Camcorders, DSLR cameras, tripods, lights, and audio recording equipment.
- Ensure the Broadcast Studio is available and functional for filming, recording, and photography.
- Provide technical support for students and staff using Apple Mac computers and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deliver in-class workshops and skills development sessions on Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong technical expertise in Apple Macs and industry-standard creative software, including Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience in broadcast studio environments and post-16 education.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
- Proactive and adaptable with the ability to manage a varied workload independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Background in supporting learning through technical and creative means.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a college or educational setting.
