The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher - Secondary to join our growing department and teach across KS3 and prepare students for IGCSE English Language examinations. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a collaborative academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons in line with the school’s curriculum framework and assessment objectives.
  • Teach across KS3 (Grades 7–9) and prepare students for IGCSE English Language examinations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development by updating schemes of work and collaborating with other subjects.
  • Facilitate engaging lessons that motivate and challenge students.
  • Support extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, writing workshops, and drama.
  • Deliver A Level English following the Pearson curriculum.
  • Provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.
  • Model and uphold the values and professional standards of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced Secondary English Teacher.
  • Deep and flexible subject knowledge in English at Secondary level.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to design and facilitate learning in English.
  • Understanding of how students learn and the ability to motivate and challenge them.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Pearson curriculum.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities related to English.
  • Experience with teaching GCSE English.
  • Experience with teaching in an international or multicultural environment.
