The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher - TLR Postholder, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality English education to students at KS3 and GCSE levels. This is a leadership opportunity with the potential to influence curriculum development and support colleagues across the Unity Schools Partnership. The role offers flexibility in the focus areas of the TLR payment, including reading, library provision, oracy, and teacher coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students at KS3 and GCSE levels.
- Support the development of reading across the curriculum and contribute to library provision.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance oracy and communication skills in students.
- Provide coaching and professional development to fellow teachers.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the CUSP curriculum.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and excellence within the school.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives aimed at student enrichment and whole-child development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Experience in KS3 and GCSE English curriculum delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and across the Trust.
- Commitment to student enrichment and whole-child development.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or TLR postholder roles.
- Knowledge of oracy, reading across the curriculum, and library management.
- Experience with coaching and mentoring teachers.
- Familiarity with the CUSP curriculum or similar frameworks.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
