The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated English Teacher with TLR to join our supportive and professional department. This role offers the chance to shape student learning and contribute to a vibrant educational community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence curriculum development and support student achievement across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English at Key Stage 3 and GCSE, delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, including reading across the curriculum and oracy initiatives.
  • Support the school’s focus on enrichment and whole-child development through extra-curricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Unity Schools Partnership to share best practice and drive improvement.
  • Lead and mentor other teachers, contributing to staff development and professional growth.
  • Manage and develop the school library, promoting a love of reading and literacy across the curriculum.
  • Participate in coaching and training programs to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Engage with students, parents, and the wider community to support student success and school values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons that meet curriculum standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and inclusive education.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or supporting curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with literacy initiatives such as reading across the curriculum and oracy programs.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring other teachers.
  • Knowledge of CUSP curriculum or similar frameworks.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
