Foundation Subjects Lead Teacher role available at a specialist school in Tewkesbury.
About the School:
A specialist school for secondary students aged 11-19 in Worcester and Tewkesbury. The school was established to meet the needs of students with complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and increasingly autism.
The Opportunity:
As a Foundation Subjects Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that supports students with complex needs. This is an opportunity to lead, inspire and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning, confidence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of ambitious, accessible and engaging foundation subject curricula.
- Drive curriculum development across all foundation subjects, modelling best practice and supporting accurate assessment and reporting.
- Work with senior leaders to develop accreditation routes, qualification pathways and compliant UAS delivery.
- Build strong, professional relationships that promote engagement, creativity, confidence and wellbeing.
- Support students with SEMH needs, including autism, to access learning and manage regulation effectively.
- Champion the school’s ethos, values and cultural capital through subject leadership and whole-school initiatives.
- Support and develop colleagues through training, CPD and shared subject expertise.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and reporting in line with school policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- QTD or equivalent qualification
- Experience in teaching foundation subjects
- Strong leadership and curriculum development skills
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, including autism
- Ability to manage and coordinate UAS provision
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering vocational courses
- Experience in supporting students with complex learning needs
- Experience in leading and mentoring teaching staff
- Experience in creating bespoke learning programmes
