The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant Level 2 to join our team and support students in their Independent Study sessions. This role involves both classroom-based support and one-to-one assistance, helping students develop essential study skills and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students during timetabled Independent Study sessions within a classroom and Learning Resources Centre environment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including taking registers and following up on student attendance and achievement.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them develop study skills and meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the College’s Independent Study programme.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and attendance.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified to Level 3 (A Level or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students at Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Ability to support students with individual learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or learning support roles.
  • Familiarity with educational software and administrative systems.
  • Experience with independent study programmes.
  • Knowledge of study skills development techniques.
