The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative part-time teacher of Geography and Environmental Science to join a dynamic department. The role involves teaching A level Geography and/or Environmental Science, with the potential to contribute to the development of an exciting and relevant curriculum for 16-19 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Geography and Environmental Science to A level students.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of an innovative and relevant curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving academic success and personal growth through varied teaching methods and extra-curricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing best practice and participating in the Teaching and Learning Group.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to early career teachers as part of a structured induction program.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching strategies and subject knowledge.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the wider life of the institution.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress in line with school policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Geography and/or Environmental Science at A level.
  • Commitment to providing an outstanding learning experience for 16-19 students.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a part-time teaching schedule (0.5-0.6 FTE).
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and mentorship programs.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching a second subject.
  • Experience with early career teacher development or mentorship.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
