The Opportunity:
A Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover) is sought to deliver high-quality education to students in Years 5-13. This is a temporary role for one term, starting in September 2026, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a highly regarded and forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Geography lessons to a wide range of students.
- Support students with special educational needs and challenge gifted and talented learners.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school's high academic standards.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independent learning.
- Participate in school events and contribute to the wider educational community.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in line with the school's safeguarding policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in delivering Geography at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Familiarity with The Global Classroom initiative.
- Experience with digital learning and technology integration in teaching.
- Background in extracurricular Geography activities or fieldwork.
