The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated German Teacher to join a dynamic and collaborative team. This role involves teaching A-level German and contributing to a supportive, innovative learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students and supporting their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach AQA A-level German to two classes across both year groups.
  • Deliver a weekly tutor group to support student personal development.
  • Work closely with a volunteer speaking assistant to enhance student language skills through 1-2-1 sessions.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of innovative and engaging lessons.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with the English and Languages team.
  • Support the development and implementation of new initiatives within the department.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students as part of the tutor group role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in German.
  • Commitment to active and innovative teaching both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Experience teaching at either secondary or sixth form level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A-level German.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Familiarity with AQA A-level curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience with digital tools and resources for language teaching.
