The Opportunity:
As the Head of Athletic Development, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive athletic programme that supports student wellbeing, performance, and competitive success. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on student development and to lead a dynamic team within a forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a long-term athletic development pathway for students across a range of sports.
- Deliver high-quality training sessions focusing on movement, speed, agility, mobility and injury prevention.
- Support elite athletes competing at academy, county and national levels.
- Collaborate with the sports department to promote a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with students, staff and external partners to enhance sporting opportunities and outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of athletic programmes and make data-driven improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare standards in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant degree in a discipline such as sports science, strength and conditioning or athletic development.
- UKSCA accreditation or equivalent.
- Proven experience in athletic development for young athletes.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage a demanding workload and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in working within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of elite sports performance and talent development.
- Experience with coaching or training at national competition level.
- Familiarity with sports technology and data analysis tools.
