As Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will lead a passionate team and inspire students aged 11-18 through high-quality teaching and strategic development. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student outcomes and departmental success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of teachers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Business Studies and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Support staff through mentoring, professional development, and collaborative planning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that reflects the school’s ethos and values.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the strategic direction of the school.
- Promote student achievement and ensure a broad and balanced education for all learners.
- Engage with the wider school community, including parents and external partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Business Studies and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience in a Middle Leader role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present and inspire.
- A commitment to the school’s ethos and core values.
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement and drive positive change.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
- Familiarity with Chaplaincy work and pastoral care.
- Strong track record in staff development and team building.
- Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and technologies.
