The Opportunity:

As a School Governor, you will play a vital role in supporting the leadership team and ensuring the continued improvement of a high performing secondary school. Your involvement will help raise standards, improve student outcomes, and ensure that resources are used effectively to benefit all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Challenge and support the leadership team in delivering the school improvement plan
  • Ensure that student outcomes continue to improve and standards are raised
  • Monitor the effective use of funds to maximize impact for students
  • Engage with the Trustee Board to support informed decision-making
  • Participate in meetings, learning walks, and training sessions
  • Support the school in strategic projects and key activities
  • Attend annual conferences and ad-hoc events
  • Complete required training and development programs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A commitment to supporting the school with time and expertise
  • Availability during school hours for meetings and activities
  • Willingness to engage in training and development opportunities

Preferred

  • Experience in education, governance, finance, or human resources
  • Knowledge of SEND, inclusion, or working with vulnerable groups
  • Experience in leadership or strategic planning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
