The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Creative Arts Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support to enhance achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate creative arts into broader curriculum and extracurricular activities.

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of creative arts programs, including co-curricular and enrichment opportunities.
  • Promote the value of the arts in student development and ensure the department’s impact is recognized and celebrated.
  • Represent the department in meetings, events, and external partnerships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting, ideally within the arts.
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience in creative arts disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of determination, integrity, and respect.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in the arts.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Background in developing and managing extracurricular and co-curricular programs.
  • Strong understanding of the role of the arts in student well-being and achievement.
