The Opportunity:

The Head of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a school undergoing significant transformation. This is a strategic leadership position that requires vision, expertise, and the ability to drive change across finance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial management and control functions including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the integration of the school’s financial systems with the wider Inspired Learning Group.
  • Develop and implement robust financial processes and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the Inspired Learning Group Head Office on key projects and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support the school’s long-term goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the finance team is aligned with the school’s vision and values.
  • Manage risks and identify opportunities for financial improvement and growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and financial advisors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior finance role within an educational institution.
  • Strong background in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems and processes in the education sector.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a large educational group or multi-academy trust.
  • Familiarity with the Inspired Learning Group and its operations.
  • Experience in leading change management initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial compliance and regulatory requirements in education.
