The Opportunity:
As the Head of Humanities and Leadership Team, you will lead a key learning area and be a member of the Extended Leadership Team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the academic and professional growth of both students and staff, while upholding the school’s high standards and strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Humanities Learning Area to ensure academic excellence and student success.
- Support and mentor staff across the learning area and beyond, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Oversee a significant budget and ensure effective resource allocation to drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the school and implement initiatives that align with the federation’s values.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, innovation, and continuous improvement across the learning area.
- Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to ensure a cohesive and impactful approach to school development.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing targeted support where needed to ensure academic progress.
- Represent the school in external forums and partnerships, enhancing its reputation and influence in the education sector.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a department or area of responsibility within a school setting.
- Strong subject expertise in either History or Religious Studies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff, with a track record of fostering professional excellence.
- Commitment to the federation’s values of Excellence, No Excuses, and Unity.
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation of educational initiatives.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Preferred
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or federation environment.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning methodologies.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Leadership in extracurricular activities or student engagement programs.
- A passion for continuous professional development and a commitment to personal and team growth.
