Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality History lessons that engage students and inspire a love for the subject.
  • Lead and support departmental initiatives, including curriculum development and staff training.
  • Manage and analyze student data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of the school’s educational vision and values.
  • Mentor and support trainee teachers and new staff members.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven track record of successful History teaching across key stages
  • Experience in a classroom setting with a commitment to student success
  • Strong leadership skills and willingness to take on postholder responsibilities
  • Passion for History and a commitment to sharing that passion with students

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership
  • Experience with staff training and professional development
  • Familiarity with data management and student progress tracking
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
