As Head of Humanities, you will lead and support the development of a dynamic and ambitious faculty, driving excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and student outcomes across a wide range of subjects. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the strategic and operational development of the Humanities faculty
- Work closely with the Faculty Leader to drive standards and improve teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a high-quality, ambitious curriculum across all key stages
- Support colleagues through professional development and coaching
- Ensure consistent high expectations and strong outcomes for all students
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities and leadership development
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes across all subjects
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong subject knowledge in Humanities and proven classroom experience
- Experience in leadership or a desire to take the next step into leadership
- Commitment to high standards, consistency, and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and development
- Background in leading or supporting a department
- Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing
- Familiarity with assessment and data analysis
- Experience with teaching a range of Humanities subjects
