As Head of Humanities, you will lead and support the development of a dynamic and ambitious faculty, driving excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and student outcomes across a wide range of subjects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the strategic and operational development of the Humanities faculty
  • Work closely with the Faculty Leader to drive standards and improve teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a high-quality, ambitious curriculum across all key stages
  • Support colleagues through professional development and coaching
  • Ensure consistent high expectations and strong outcomes for all students
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities and leadership development
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes across all subjects

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in Humanities and proven classroom experience
  • Experience in leadership or a desire to take the next step into leadership
  • Commitment to high standards, consistency, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum design and development
  • Background in leading or supporting a department
  • Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing
  • Familiarity with assessment and data analysis
  • Experience with teaching a range of Humanities subjects
