Summary:

Head of Mathematics needed to lead a high-performing team and drive student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Mathematics department with a focus on raising student achievement.
  • Implement and monitor effective teaching and learning strategies across the curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Middle Leadership Group to drive whole-school improvement and innovation.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of assessment and feedback initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent and high-quality student outcomes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Support and mentor staff within the Mathematics team to enhance teaching practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to share best practices and improve student engagement.
  • Maintain strong links with the Saffron Academy Trust and local networks to support professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a Mathematics department in a school setting.
  • A track record of outstanding classroom practice and student achievement.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in assessment and feedback innovation.
  • Background in a school with a strong focus on student progress and achievement.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar partnership structure.
  • Experience with leading initiatives that have contributed to school improvement.
