The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher - Curriculum and Progress, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring high standards of curriculum design and safeguarding. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced and visionary professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum and progress strategies.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to deliver the school’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Drive whole-school improvement initiatives and support staff development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding and wellbeing practices are embedded throughout the institution.
  • Manage and deputise for the Headteacher when required.
  • Oversee key operational systems and support the smooth running of the school.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including parents, students, and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong strategic leadership and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Expertise in curriculum design, teaching practice, and learning development.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student and staff wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with an outstanding sixth form.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and collaboration.
  • Experience with innovative teaching and learning frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and academic achievement.
