The Opportunity:

As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, driving excellence in mathematics teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a robust mathematics curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision and Ofsted standards.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance pedagogical practice and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive school improvement and achieve strategic goals.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Work closely with the Middle Leadership Team to support school-wide initiatives and improvement plans.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and a commitment to raising attainment across all ability levels.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A track record of improving student outcomes and raising standards in mathematics.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic educational setting or a commitment to faith-based values.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted inspection processes and standards.
  • Experience in managing and leading a large department or team.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in mathematics education.
