Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Academic PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Core PE programme and related qualifications.
- Deliver and coach across core sports, contributing to a dynamic games culture.
- Support the progression of students in GCSE PE, BTEC Sport, and Higher Sports Leadership qualifications.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a holistic approach to student development.
- Ensure the PE programme aligns with the school’s educational mission and values.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance and programme outcomes.
- Represent the PE department at school events and external partnerships.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a PE department within a school setting.
- Strong academic background in PE or related subject areas.
- Experience in delivering GCSE PE, BTEC Sport, and Higher Sports Leadership qualifications.
- Excellent coaching and teaching skills across a range of core sports.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading innovative PE programmes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in working within a co-educational and boarding school environment.
- Ability to contribute to a vibrant games culture and extracurricular activities.
