The Opportunity:
As the Head of Property and Capital Investment Programmes, you will lead the strategic development of the school’s estate, ensuring that buildings and grounds continue to support the educational mission. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape long-term planning, balancing heritage, sustainability, and future ambition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development of the school’s estate and capital investment programmes across Benenden and Orwell Park.
- Develop and implement environmental and estates master planning strategies aligned with the school’s vision.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Governing Council to ensure thoughtful planning and stewardship.
- Manage capital investment projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Ensure that all developments support the school’s mission of providing a Complete Education.
- Balance the preservation of heritage with the integration of modern, sustainable practices.
- Engage with stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of estate developments on student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading large-scale estates and capital investment projects.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills at a senior level.
- In-depth knowledge of heritage conservation, sustainability, and environmental planning.
- Ability to manage complex projects with a focus on long-term outcomes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across senior leadership and governing bodies.
Preferred
- Experience in the education sector, particularly in school estates or capital development.
- Familiarity with educational facility planning and design.
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of environment in supporting student learning and wellbeing.
- Experience with master planning and long-term development strategies.
