Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the Religious Studies department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.
• Support the development of staff within the department through mentoring and professional development.

• Work with senior leadership to implement school-wide initiatives and policies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant curriculum and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Studies at the secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge, including Islam and Christianity.
• Excellent understanding of the Religious Studies curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Experience in leading a department and managing a team of staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

Preferred

• Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
• Familiarity with data-driven teaching and learning strategies.
• Experience with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and staff training.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
