Head of Secondary Inclusion needed to lead and enhance inclusive learning practices.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Secondary Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an inclusive learning environment for students in Key Stages 4 and 5. This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change and support students with diverse needs, ensuring they are equipped to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Secondary Inclusion Department, ensuring effective implementation of inclusive practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, parents, and external stakeholders to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in supporting students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the inclusion team.
  • Ensure the curriculum is delivered in a way that meets the individual needs of all students.
  • Engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to enhance leadership and inclusion expertise.
  • Support teachers in developing individual student goals and success plans.
  • Oversee the IEP writing process and maintain confidentiality in all student-related matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Fully qualified teacher with BEd, MEd, PGCE, QTS or equivalent.
  • SENCO or equivalent qualification in supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Proven leadership experience in an inclusive educational setting.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting students in Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and promoting an inclusive ethos within the school.
  • Secure knowledge of the National Curriculum for England.

Preferred

  • Experience in facilitating exam accommodations.
  • Exposure to teaching alternative qualification pathways.
  • Skilled in using digital tools to enhance learning and support students.
  • Experience in leading and developing inclusive learning strategies.
