The Opportunity:

As a Homeroom Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the early educational experiences of students aged 5-8. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic classroom, support student growth, and contribute to a culture of learning and inclusion within a progressive international school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a homeroom class, providing high-quality instruction aligned with the British National Curriculum EYFS/Key Stage 1 or American Common Core standards.
  • Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs, including EAL students.
  • Foster positive student behavior and classroom management through effective strategies and proactive engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and student development.
  • Utilize educational technology to enhance student learning and track progress through data analysis.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student success and maintain a strong home-school partnership.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.
  • Ensure compliance with all UAE and ADEK educational regulations and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant subject area with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
  • Valid teaching license or certification recognized in the UAE.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in a primary school setting for students aged 5-8.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching an internationally recognized curriculum such as the British National Curriculum EYFS/Key Stage 1 or American Common Core.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.

Preferred

  • Specialization or significant experience in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education Key Stage 1/Grades 1-2.
  • Experience working in an international school environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based and play-based learning approaches.
  • Experience with educational technology such as G Suite for Education or Microsoft Office 365.
