The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspirational KS1 Class Teacher for a full-time temporary role covering the Autumn Term. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners and contribute to a dynamic school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, with a focus on phonics, early reading, and writing.
  • Inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their personal best and develop a love of learning.
  • Create a stimulating, language-rich classroom environment that supports early learning and independence.
  • Plan and deliver creative, structured learning experiences that align with the school’s values and curriculum.
  • Support the development of pupils’ social and emotional well-being through positive relationships and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the school’s wide range of extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student progress and development.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching and learning within EYFS and Key Stage 1.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum, with expertise in phonics, early reading, and early writing.
  • Demonstrable understanding of child development and the transition from Early Years to Key Stage 1.
  • Strong knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Commitment to the pastoral care and emotional well-being of all pupils.
  • A collaborative team member with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.

  • Experience in contributing to the extracurricular life of the school.
  • Commitment to personal professional development.
  • Ability to provide a suitable enhanced DBS disclosure.
