The Opportunity:

A Music Teacher Graduate is sought to support the music department through ensemble rehearsals, performances, and individual student practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop teaching skills and contribute to a new singing strategy that aims to enhance musical participation and excellence across all year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ensemble rehearsals and performances across the school.
  • Assist in classroom teaching and provide individual and small-group vocal coaching.
  • Accompany students during concerts, assemblies, and graded music examinations.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of weekly singing sessions for all pupils.
  • Support the Director of Music in preparing for liturgical performances and concerts.
  • Engage with boarders, offering pastoral support and guidance in a residential setting.
  • Participate in extra-curricular music performances and recitals.
  • Assist in the administration and musical planning of school events and services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a relevant degree or suitable music qualification.
  • Have practical experience in music-making.
  • Experience or interest in working with young people.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to support students pastorally and model appropriate behaviors.
  • Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular music performances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pupils of various age ranges.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the school’s ethos and values.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
  • Undergo a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
  • Understand child protection and safeguarding requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding or residential environment.
  • Experience in vocal and choral training.
  • Fluency in keyboard skills, including sightreading.
