As a Learning Mentor (SEND), you will provide essential support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Your work will be vital in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils individually and in small groups, delivering targeted interventions and behaviour support
- Collaborate with class teachers and trans-disciplinary teams to provide effective teaching and learning support
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
- Deliver focused interventions to help pupils overcome learning barriers
- Work flexibly and adaptively across all areas of school life
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans and support strategies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting children and young people with special educational needs
Preferred
- Experience in delivering targeted interventions and behaviour support
- Experience working with children with autism
- Experience in tracking and monitoring pupil progress
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans
