Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred teaching to students with autism and complex learning needs.
- Implement strategies to support students in achieving their EHCP targets and personal goals.
- Work collaboratively with education, health, and care teams to ensure holistic student support.
- Promote student well-being, attendance, and progress through inclusive and engaging learning practices.
- Apply evidence-based approaches to autism support and safeguarding.
- Support students in developing life skills and preparing for future opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress regularly.
- Participate in staff training and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- QTS/NQT or equivalent, or Level 3 Teaching Award.
- Proven experience in teaching students with autism and complex learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of current SEN and autism theory, practice, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and with external agencies.
- Confident use of IT tools for teaching and administrative tasks.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience with accreditation boards such as ASDAN.
- Background in delivering the national curriculum to students with complex needs.
- Experience in developing individualised learning plans.
