The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Librarian to support students in developing essential research and literacy skills. This role is central to fostering a love of learning and promoting a culture of inquiry and curiosity across the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain an attractive, ordered, and clean library environment with displays and seating arrangements relevant to curricular topics.
• Utilize both formative and summative assessment tools to monitor student progress and support learning outcomes.
• Select, order, process, and publicize new materials to ensure a diverse and up-to-date collection.
• Provide instruction on the use and care of print and non-print materials, including technology and media production tools.
• Promote an understanding of the difference between research and inquiry, supporting students in developing critical thinking skills.
• Integrate technology into all aspects of student learning, using best practice and innovative approaches.
• Support literacy development and curriculum integration through resource provision and collaboration with teaching staff.
• Engage the school community in collection building through interactive tools such as polls and suggestion forms.
• Create and manage a flexible schedule that allows for tailored support to student needs, including SEN and ESL students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience as a Librarian or in a similar educational support role.
• Strong knowledge of library management, collection development, and information literacy.
• Experience in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
• Ability to manage and maintain a welcoming and well-organized library environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and the wider school community.

Preferred

• Experience with curriculum support and literacy development.
• Familiarity with international curricula and educational standards.
• Experience with media production tools such as podcasting and video production.
• Demonstrated ability to model international mindedness and cultural awareness.
