The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and safety of our school estate. This role is essential to ensuring that all buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard and meet statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair buildings, equipment, and facilities across the school estate.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Premises Manager and wider Premises Team to deliver maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Carry out routine inspections and report any issues promptly.
• Assist with emergency repairs and respond to urgent maintenance requests.
• Support the school during special events, including Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Follow all procedures and guidelines provided by the school and relevant authorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant trade such as joinery, plumbing, or electrical work.
• Proven experience in a skilled maintenance or manual role.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication.

Preferred

• Experience working in an educational environment.
• Health and safety qualifications.
• Experience with security systems.
