The Opportunity:

As a Mathematics Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students aged 16-18. You will be responsible for teaching A level Maths, A level Further Maths, and other related subjects. The school is introducing A level Statistics, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates with a background in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that ensure students understand mathematical techniques and concepts.
  • Mark assessments including tests, mock exams, and homework accurately and on time.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with relevant parties when issues arise.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills in a supportive and high-achieving environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching methods.
  • Provide individualised support through tutorials to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and developments in mathematics education.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject.
  • A PGCE or level 4 teaching qualification, or a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job.
  • Experience in teaching mathematics at a relevant level.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for education.

Preferred

  • Background in A level Statistics.
  • Experience teaching 16-18 year-olds.
  • Experience with Level 3 Core Maths, GCSE Higher and Foundation Maths, or Functional Skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £31,339 to £46,059 per annum.
