The Opportunity:
A Maths Lead Practitioner is needed to drive academic excellence and inspire a love for mathematics in students. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence curriculum development and lead a passionate team dedicated to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a rigorous, knowledge-based maths curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Lead and support the maths department through collaborative planning and shared resources.
- Provide academic mentoring and pastoral support to students within a designated tutor group.
- Monitor and improve student attainment, progress, and standards in maths.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching sessions.
- Contribute to the school’s mission by promoting student self-worth and cultural capital.
- Support the implementation of clear behaviour systems and effective feedback policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Maths and wider MAT to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in maths education.
- Proven track record in delivering outstanding student outcomes.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience in academic mentoring or pastoral support.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles.
- Familiarity with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with data analysis and student progress tracking.
- Background in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
