Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Support students of all abilities, from those requiring additional support to those aiming for top university placements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities, including maths challenges, competitions, and enrichment events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and support individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Mentor and support younger colleagues as part of a collaborative and professional team.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, preferably in a selective school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with GCSE and A-level Mathematics curricula.
  • Familiarity with maths competitions and enrichment activities.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading professional development sessions.
  • Knowledge of using IT and digital tools to support teaching and learning.
