The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to deliver high-quality music education across all key stages. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, lead performances, and contribute to the cultural and artistic life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective music lessons across all key stages
  • Teach a broad and balanced music curriculum, including singing, instrumental skills, music theory, and composition
  • Prepare students for GCSE Music (where applicable)
  • Organise and lead performances, concerts, and school productions
  • Develop and support choirs, ensembles, and extracurricular music activities
  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and integrate technology where appropriate
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in Music or a related field
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching across a range of age groups (Early Years to Secondary desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for music education
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience leading a department or faculty
  • Proven track record of curriculum development
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to lead whole-school initiatives and productions
